Heroes. We’ve all got them. But currently mine are all LEGO-fied. Thanks to my kidlets’ obsession with LEGO DC Superheroes and Star Wars. So for a bit of inspiration… here are some fun paper pieced heroes!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No! It’s Superman!
Nanananananananana BATMAN! Okay maybe I didn’t have enough “na’s” in there but you get the idea.
Oh and Robin. We can’t forget poor overworked, underpaid, less star-powered Robin.
And for us girls…. Wonder Woman! (you’re supposed to sing that part).
Or maybe you’re a Star Wars fan – there are some heroes happening there too. And what are heroes without villains, or as well call them in my house, goodies and baddies? So here’s an assortment of both.
Keen to try one of your own for the very fun Le Challenge this time round? There’s extra time for this challenge so plenty of time to try some paper piecing! You can find these patterns in the Quiet Play Craftsy shop as freebies.
While you’re there, why not check out some of the other patterns on offer? You know, in case you win the giveaway. Oh yes, there’s a giveaway attached to this post! Winner’s choice of 3 paper pieced patterns. Just leave a comment telling us your favourite fictional hero!
And finally to end on the hero note… how about a theme song? You know it’s gotta be from the 80’s. I think the 80’s has a song for every possible theme there is.
So. Enjoy. ;)
Thanks Kristy! The winner of the giveaway will be open until Monday 29th July and announced here on Tuesday 30th... comment away!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!! lubna_2112@hotmail.com
Do you remember "the Saint"....but Wonder Woman was a proper hero and then I would have anything by Duran Duran.... May be Girls on film would fit nicely with the theme.
ReplyDeleteKeep on creating these patterns Kristy, they're fabulous.
These blocks are too adorable! I was always into the Phantom, to be honest; he was so manly in his purple spandex! I feel like he's very underrated.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a lover of all things Superhero. It's made being momma to a boy-man-child so much easier. LOL!
ReplyDeletemy favorite is Thor currently... because well. Yeah. Thor. Yum. LOL!
But we're wondering with the number of times Dr. Who saves the world, does he count? Cause currently we're all about the Who right now...
(And Craftsy has several Dr. Who themed block paper piecing patterns for free also.... just as a head's up... I'm working on a Dr. Who quilt for kidlet for Christmas... hehehe...
Wonder Woman all the way!
ReplyDeleteWell it's my Mum of course. And Han Solo. And Capatin Mal from Firefly. And Joshua Calvert from the Nights Dawn Trilogy (bet you need to google that one!) and Arrow. In fact pretty much any hot guy. I'm an easy fan girl.

ReplyDeleteCaptain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly is my favorite hero ~ know he's not a comic book hero but I love him anyway!
ReplyDeleteLOL Buck Rogers from the sci fi series with that little robot making the sound "namamamamam". 80's right?

As a kid I loved Knight Rider! He was a hero taking on all those bad guys each week, but I agree with Mel, Thor is just, well, yummy! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha - poor Robin! Still loving all of these Kristy!
ReplyDeleteOh Man - now that is a tough question!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up I was a huge fan of The Hobbit - to the point that I had a pony called Bilbo Baggins, who really was anything but fat and roly poly as I had imagined Bilbo to have been.
Now days - I am re-reading the Clan of the Bear Series. The main character Ava just blows me away with the boundaries that she overcomes etc.
How about the spleen and the raj!? LOL I love the unexpected hero's!
ReplyDeleteI think the Incredible Hulk would be mine.
ReplyDeleteA little bit different and big and muscular!
I think my favourite super hero might be SuperTed...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyvsQBcG9OU
