The super sweet Kelle of Ann Kelle has designed the adorable fabric line 'Super Kids' out this month.

"I couldn’t be more happier to share with you my newest fabric collection, Super Kids. I love super heros . . . I actually think each of us has a super hero in us... Girls are super heros, too. So, I drew them and a couple of other characters. I love this collection. It makes me giddy inside, especially the girls."

Have you come up with any ideas for the Heroes theme?

Here's some fabric ideas to get you thinking...

The obvious to me is Superheroes:

Make your own costume with these panels

Or it could be war heroes:

Perhaps your hero is an author or a character from a book?:

Or you have a creative/sewing/designer hero?

You could have a sporting hero:

Possibly TV heroes:

Why not have a break and think about it while you eat a hero sandwich?

Inspiration from Kristy + GIVEAWAY

Today the lovely Kristy from Quiet Play is giving us some inspiration for the HEROES theme on Le Challenge. Be sure to come back here and link up your heroes craft projects on September 15th for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop and follow us for more inspiration. Here's Kristy...

Heroes. We’ve all got them. But currently mine are all LEGO-fied. Thanks to my kidlets’ obsession with LEGO DC Superheroes and Star Wars. So for a bit of inspiration… here are some fun paper pieced heroes!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No! It’s Superman!

Nanananananananana BATMAN!  Okay maybe I didn’t have enough “na’s” in there but you get the idea.

Oh and Robin. We can’t forget poor overworked, underpaid, less star-powered Robin.

And for us girls…. Wonder Woman! (you’re supposed to sing that part).

Or maybe you’re a Star Wars fan – there are some heroes happening there too. And what are heroes without villains, or as well call them in my house, goodies and baddies? So here’s an assortment of both.

Keen to try one of your own for the very fun Le Challenge this time round? There’s extra time for this challenge so plenty of time to try some paper piecing! You can find these patterns in the Quiet Play Craftsy shop as freebies.

While you’re there, why not check out some of the other patterns on offer? You know, in case you win the giveaway. Oh yes, there’s a giveaway attached to this post! Winner’s choice of 3 paper pieced patterns. Just leave a comment telling us your favourite fictional hero!

And finally to end on the hero note… how about a theme song? You know it’s gotta be from the 80’s. I think the 80’s has a song for every possible theme there is.

So. Enjoy. ;)

Thanks Kristy! The winner of the giveaway will be open until Monday 29th July and announced here on Tuesday 30th... comment away!

next up...

The next theme is HEROES.

Now before you all run and hide and don't play along we are kindly giving you all 2 months to get this one done. So the link up will be September 15th (no link in August).

Since it is a baking hot summer here and a cooler winter on the other side we thought we'd give you a break, or more time to work on a bigger project.

Remember there is lots of room for interpretation and if you're stumped we will be giving you lots of inspiration over the next two months.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with! We'd appreciate help spreading the word about this challenge, so please hop on facebook, twitter, your blogs and rope some people in ;)
