Burda has gone Maritime - who wants to be a surfer girl?

I buy the BurdaStyle magazine quite religiously every month, for a little bit less than 5 quid you get a lot of patterns - it is good value let's face it. And Burda has really tried to be up to speed with fashion trends, so has got some fun and funky outfits...

A few bloggers had reviewed the June edition, and one theme was widely discussed - the Surfer section... I suppose this could work for this month's maritime theme especially if...

you have decided to take some ammunitions with you to make a dress work - alert to fashion bloggers... (I am assuming this is James Bond girl meets neon)...

or decided that the 80s is back and net tank top is the way forward (with that sexy pose of course)...

OR decided that as a scuba diver, you decided to sew your own outfit... Really a scuba diver outfit, really..

If any of you decided to sew any of these outfits - especially the last one - please, please link up on 15th, I really want to be proved wrong and being told that this is the best outfit of your wardrobe!

Cannot wait to see your makes, better get back to my own! See you all on 15th!

More inspiration from Michelle + GIVEAWAY

Hello! I'm Michelle from Tres Bien Ensemble and I am so pleased to be here. Before I dive into my inspiration for this challenge, I want to extend an enormous THANK YOU!! to Nat and Lucy for inviting me to be a guest. I'm so very impressed by the genius of this community. I love a good challenge based project, and I find it inspiring to see the many ways individuals interpret a theme. This blog is brilliant, ladies. Hats off to you!

At the announcement of this month's challenge, my mind went straight to a cut of fabric I had stashed. The combination of the changing season, a new pattern, and my hibernating, butterfly print fabric were the driving force behind my Wings themed project.

To further fuel my fancy, I created a board to keep track and pull ideas from. I found a variety of beautiful butterfly print garments,

Alexander McQueen

Dorothy Perkins

ModCloth

Beautiful butterfly inspired quilts,

I was also able to find a wide variety of Butterfly print fabrics. Lots and lots of ideas to choose from! Are you feeling 'all a flutter' yet? As a closing note and a gesture of gratitude for the delightful privilege of being here, I want to offer a giveaway! On April 15th, I'll reveal the skirt I made using Deer&Doe's, Chardon Skirt ,and Nat and Lucy will randomly select one of you to receive a copy of this pattern!

To enter:
1. Leave a comment on this Le Challenge post.
2. For a second chance to win, leave a separate comment letting Nat and Lucy know that you are a Le Challenge follower and the method which you use to follow.

I'm looking very forward to seeing the reveal of your wings themed projects on May 15th!

Clarification...

Question-Mark
source

If you're new to Le Challenge or just what to remind yourself what it's all about please visit Le Challenge in 10 Questions.

In addition to that we just wanted to clarify a few things:

- You project must be finished (a quilt top will count as a finish).

- Please link to Le Challenge in your blog post or Flickr description, or grab the button when you link up.

- Your make must have been completed within the month the challenge was set, please don't link up old projects that happen to fit the theme.
The idea is really to see what you can make within the month and how you interpret the theme... having said that if you finish a project you've already been working on or have made for another purpose but you finish during the month of the Le Challenge theme then we welcome you to link up with it!

- If you can please save your finished projects to reveal during the link, it makes it more fun! Feel free to blog about your progress or show sneak peeks throughout the month though, it is always great to encourage others and share how you're getting on.

- Finally, and this is actually a personal bugbear and request, a lot of the blogs that entered last month had word verification turned ON for comments on their blogs. You can read my original rant about it but could I kindly request that people turn their word verification OFF, it makes commenting so much easier for everyone. If you are worried about spam I have found I have had NONE since switching off anonymous comments and moderating comments older than a few days. You would make me very happy if you would turn off word verification and it makes commenting on your blog so much faster and easier. Thank you!
